300 Machine & Sewer Drain
This section will be about the 300 machine, how to use it and for what drain it was made for.
What Is A 300 Model?
The
300 Machine
is the third biggest drain cable machine made by Spartan Tools to be used in drain pipes.
This particular machine when fully loaded with cable weight about 138 lbs and, there are two types of cable designed for it, one is called magnum cable and the other is called 5/8” cable.
The magnum cable is a smaller cable in diameter and it is also called magnum because it is made from a different type of metal than the 5/8” cable.
The 300 machine can fit about 107 feet of magnum cable inside of its drum while, it can only fit 82 feet of regular cable, also known as the 5/8” cable.
This machine was designed to work in pipes that measure between 3” to 6” in diameter.
Using A 300 Machine:
The 300 machine is very similar to the 1065 machine, both machines were designed to work in bigger pipes, in fact, I have used both equipment to unclog sewer lines in residential and commercial settings.
The 300 model is a smaller version of the 1065 but, it can deliver the exact same result when unclogging main lines.
The 300 has lesser power than the 1065 and sometimes it can be a problem when unclogging major lines because it might not deliver what is expected.
When I was a drain technician, I used to have both machines in my truck for two reasons, to have more cable in case if I had to connect both machines to cable a longer line and, because sometimes the 300 machine wouldn't break through certain types of blockages.
But for the majority of the time, the 300 model will take care of the blockage. In fact, the 300 is a much more convenient machine to carry around, to take in basements or to pass through tight spots while the 1065 can be really hard to do the same.
Sewer Line Machine
The 300 model is a professional grade equipment to be used in main sewer lines and not in secondary lines.
The equipment was made to remove most major blockages in sewer lines but, if the 300 model can’t remove a blockage, chances are that the drain might have a more serious problem with it.
The 300 cable machine should be able to handle just about any kind of solid blockage encountered inside main drains. However,
I wouldn’t advise to use such equipment in pipes that are bigger than 4” in diameter, and the machine won’t deliver a great result as if used in 3” or 4” pipes.
When operating this particular machine, keep a distance of about 3 feet between the equipment and the access point. This will reduce the risk of accidents. Also, make sure to read the guide lines prior to perform any job with the equipment.
You are fully responsible for using any equipments, my main goal is to educate you about equipments that you can easily use and, as well as, the equipments that I would not recommend you to do so, unless, of course, if you know how to.
Even though, everyone can learn how to use the drain cleaning equipments, the fact is that, some of the machines here identified can only be used by professionals.
