Hello everyone, my name is Joe,I am the webmaster of this site and, I would like to share a little bit about myself to all of you.
I like to consider myself as a well educated man, I went to school for most part of my life and I graduated in Business, Accounting, Finance and, recently, I finished my Master Degree (MBA) in Global Management.
So, as you can see, none of my education has to do with plumbing, but judge me just yet.
Throughout my life, I worked for many financial organizations between Brazil and US but, about 5 1/2 years ago while I was in school, I received a job offer from a plumbing and drain company and, I accepted.
For over 5 years now, I have been working for this same company and, during these years, I have been able to learn all the facets of the plumbing business and, I am glad I did because this company opened a new door of opportunity to me.
Why did I accept a job on a whole different field?
The main reasons were:
-- I was still going to school at the time.
-- I was not making good money with two full time jobs that I had at that time.
-- My life was very stressful back then with one of my jobs.
-- I was not making enough money with the two jobs together.
Consequently, I knew that I needed to find a better job or at least a better paying one to take care of my financial obligations and, therefore, release, some of the pressure off my back.
How was the beggining in this new job?
As I learned the facets and tricks of the plumbing business, I quickly became one of the company’s best technician, plumbing apprentice and salesman.
Shortly after, I was able to replace the combined income of my two full time jobs.
Concerns about my future in this industry:
However, even though I gained tremendous experience in the plumbing and drain business, my passion has always been in the corporate business world and building new businesses.
That has always been what I really loved to do and, eventually, I would return to it in the future.
So, since that I had the plan to leave the plumbing business behind me one day, I decided to put all my newly acquired knowledge and skills to make me money.
How is my life now?
I am glad to share with all of you that not too long ago, I received an opportunity to work on a new position for my company and, now, I no longer work as plumber and drain technician.
Today, I am the Sales and Operation Manager for the company and, I am really happy for the opportunity. I believe that the years spent inside a classroom is finally paying off and, I am very excited for future in the organization.
Why did I built this website?
I wanted to write about my newly acquired skills and keept it recorded somewhere I could go to and read about whenever I wanted.
Also, I searched the internet extensively on attempt to find websites with free plumbing and drain information but, I could hardly find anything reliable, in fact, most websites that I came across were built by people who never worked to the plumbing industry.
And that's how everything came about.
So, I hope you enjoy this website and if you have comments or suggestions, please, don’t hesitate to drop me a line.
