Dear Conie

by Joe
(Utah)

I completely understand what you're trying to do, honestly, in order to even consider if putting the tub back is a good a idea or , I would ask you to provide more detail in how you're planning to do that.

Also, before, intalling a tub drain, one must first take a few things in consideration, for example:

1 - How much space there's between the chosen location and the main drain pipe?

2 - Is there secondary lines closed by that will make the new drain installation any easier? Secondary drain lines are the smaller pipes, usually 1.5" or 2" in diameter.

3 - If there is pipes around, what is the possiblities that the new piping will meet proper grading to allow proper drainage?

4 - What is the best choice for your bathroom, the tub or drain?

I would love to better assist you with your questions, but without further information about your particular situation, I would definetely, recommend you to answer the above questions yourself and, if you still think that the tub is the best option, please, contact a local plumbing company and seek for a professional advice.

Most companies, will provide you a free estimate and professional opinion of what will need to be done.

Good luck!

Joe
