Kenmore Heater

Kenmore Water Heater

Kenmore heater is probably one of the most affordable hot water heater available in the market today, this Sears’ brand was first introduced in mid 1920’s, at first, the brand Kenmore was used only for laundry machines.

Today, Sears carries a variety of products with the brand name Kenmore and, among the many appliances; you will find gas hot water heaters are among them.

Kenmore heater is not only affordable, the brand name is also among the most trusted ones in the market today, such a reputation is extremely important to customers when considering buying a new water heater.

If you can’t trust a brand, it does not matter how cheap the product is, people won’t buy products that are not worth investing the money in.

Kenmore offer gas and electric water heaters are available in various sizes. However, for the purpose of this article, the water heater review will be done for the Kenmore Power Miser 40 gallon gas water heater.

Model Description:

Kenmore Power Miser is a very unique model and it is considered one of the best models ever built by Sears.

One of the most important features on a water heater which is also safety feature, it is known as the CSA-certified energy cut-off and, the Power Miser comes with it.

Also, the model has the FHR (First Hour Rating) as one of the most important features that one should consider when buying a new water heater.

And even though, the Power Miser did not get the highest score of its category, it is also considered an excellent technology that allows the heater have a fast recovery of hot water.

Warranty:

The warranty for Kenmore heater is pretty standard when comparing to any other water heater.

What will determine the warranty is the number of anode rod installed inside the tank, so, if the kenmore heater carries only one rod inside, than, the warranty will likely be 6-9 years, if it two rods, the warranty might be 10 or 12 years.

- One year Warranty against defects on water heater.

- 9 year Warranty against leaks.

- 9 year Warranty on parts.

Honestly speaking, the Kenmore water heater may seems a great option to buy but, after reading several complaints from my own customers, my opinion concerning the brand changed quite a bit,

I would recommend or to buy or not to buy, that decision I will let you make by yourself.

Self Cleaning Feature:

gas hot water heater

The Kenmore heater has a great feature called the self cleaning system.

This technology helps prevent sediments from building up in the bottom of the tank. How? As the tank fills up with water, the water swirl around inside the tank as it is filling up, thus cleaning the inside of the tank.

This technology is perfect for homes that have very hard water. Why? As I mentioned above, it will prevent mineral and calcium buildup from happening inside on the bottom of the tank.

This would, consequently, reduce the efficiency and performance of the water heater over time, which would also cost more in gas bill.

Satisfaction:

I have had customers that were completely satisfied with the brand while other customers were not so happy of their purchase.

Here is an example: We have had the water heater for a year, and are very pleased with it.

We always have hot water when we need it, and have never run out, even when all three of us take showers within an hour of each other. We chose the 40 gallon water heater because it was 58 inches tall and only 18 inches in diameter.

We had a small area that we needed to put it in, and these dimensions worked better than the shorter, fatter units.
