The Right Plunger For The Problem!
What Is A Plunger?
A plunger is a common device used to release stoppages from plugged drains. The tool consists of a rubber cup with an attached to a wood stick also known as shaft.
A
plunger
is a very simple and effective tool. It will unclog most toilet clogs, as long as the clogs are caused by toilet paper and/or human feces and are not strongly stuck deep in the trap. This particular drain equipment is a very popular tool and, it can be found in most households. When people have toilets or sinks plugged in their home, what is the first question that comes into their minds? Just think about it!
Operating A Plunger:

Such a tool is much more effective when there is water in the pipe; the water does not compress and will thus transmit more of the applied force than air.
When such a tool is ineffective, it is often supplemented by a chemical drain cleaning. However, be aware of the type of chemical you choose to use, most acid based products have the potential to also harm your plumbing system.
If you have tried the tool and a chemical treatment but they didn’t work out, then it is time to consider renting or buying heavier duty equipment or call a professional to take care of your plumbing drain problem.
In case you have already decided to buy or rent a better tool, I would recommend you to buy a toilet auger. This is an easy and yet, a very effective tool. In fact, a toilet auger should be more than enough to unplug just about any toilet plug.
Types Of Plungers:
There are two basic types: the cup shape (used in sinks) and the flange shape (used in toilets).

A cup shape (used in sinks), pictured above, has a flat rim designed to fit and creating a seal over a flat surface such as the bottom of a
sink,
bathtub,
shower.

A toilet flange shape as pictured at the in the image above, has a flange designed to fit into the bottom of the toilet bowl, with the flange entering into the exit pipe forming a seal.
Even though you will find all kind of this particular tool available in the market, the fact is that most of them were design to do the same thing and, that is to unplug a clogged drain.
Have in mind that a this is the first tool that should be used to attempt to unclog the toilet, which means that, it will not always work, but it is worth to have one available at home.
