Reliance Water Heaters Specifications
The Company:
Who owns and manufacture
Reliance water heaters
? And why Reliance website does not provide any information about its history? How long has the company been in operation, so on and so forth?
It was a bit strange to me not finding basic information about the company, in fact, the only good information provided in the website is a brief text that states that the customers have been purchasing Reliance water heaters for over twenty five years.
As my search continued throughout the web, I learned that Reliance is one of the many brands that were bought out by A.O. Smith.
A.O. Smith is a solid organization that has been around since 1936, it is a well know company with a great reputation.
A.O. Smith does not mention anything about its many different brands. I really don’t know why and, I will let you do your own investigation on this matter but, I believe that it is simply marketing strategy.
Customer’s Review:
As my research on Reliance water heater continued, I came across of a customer report website that provides customer’s feedback about water heaters and many other different products. See below
what two customers said about Reliance water heater.
Customer 1: “This water heater heats up fast. It replaced an old Reliance water heater which lasted 19 years. Hopeful this one will last equally as long. I am pleased with the product and I would buy it again.” (By: Tommie on 8/2/10).
Customer 2: “My gas bill has gone down noticeably. It heats quickly and efficiently. The price on this unit beat all the other stores I called, […] look no further!” By: City Girl on 02/28/09.
Pros & Cons:
Just like any other water heater brand, Reliance heaters has pros and cons that are worth to be mentioned.
Pros:
Many of the Reliance heaters have precise controls, they are very energy efficient, and they work quickly and can last very long.
Most Reliance water heaters heats up very quickly and it has a good first hour rating of 68 gallons with a recovery of 36 gallons per hour.
Cons:
Reliance heaters have had too many complaints in the past, this factor alone is enough to hurt a brand image.
Many customers complained about faulty parts such as: thermocouple, burner and problem with pilot light staying lit.
Customers also complained about the rudeness of the company’s customer support center.
Some customers said that they would never buy another Reliance water heater again and, they would never recommend the company to anybody.
