Do You Want to Know The Benefits of Having a Water Softener?

What is it about water softener that you like or dislike? Why some people decide to install in their homes while others are completely against it?

In this section I will write about the importance of having a water softener installed in your house. I will also write about the pros and cons about it.

I have come to learn that most people who are against having a water treatment system in their homes have decided because of lack of correct information or simply confusion.

I have met people who simply stated that they would never have such an equipment in their homes because salt is bad for one’s health and because it is also bad for your skin.

Believe me, I understand where they are coming from, however, allow me to say this, most people also fail to understand that salt is the least of their problems when comes to health issues related to water.

What about all the impurities that comes from the cities reservoirs? What about all the germs that contaminate the water that we all use for just about everything every day and that we cannot see?

So, if you make a table to list all the good and the bad things about having a

water treatment system, you will quickly realize that not having it, it is putting your life and your family’s life in greater risks.

So, if water softeners are so good, why don’t more people have them installed in their homes? Because we all have a tendency to rationalize about things, for example, we analyze our financial condition vs. our health benefits and, consequently, we put things off for later.

In the case of a softener, most people will never decide right away because the installation of such equipment will cost quite a bit up front. However, an investment of this nature will be worth doing because it will pay off right away.

Besides the health benefits that you will gain, you will also save a lot of money by having a softener installed in your home. If you install a water treatment system in your home, you will be investing in your whole house plumbing system on a long run. How? It will prevent build ups in your piping systems, it will prevent build ups in you fixtures, and it will save money with cleaning products and much more.

If you have an older home where softeners has never been installed, you will agree with the above information since that you are probably living with those results. Re-plumbing your home can and will cost you literally thousands of dollars, so, why not prevent this from happening?

You can have brand new equipment installed for a price that ranges between $1700 to $4500 dollars. It all depends how advanced you want your water softener to be. On the other hand, it might cost you anywhere from $7500 to $15000 to re-plumbing you water piping systems, not including repair or replacement of your home fixtures.

Just so you know, I bought a home in late 2006, the home was built in 2001 and the previous owners did not have a softener installed in the house and when we moved in we tried to use the dishwasher but, it was broken and needed to be replaced.

The dishwasher had solid deposit of calcium inside the jets and, this caused the machine to operate inefficiently. Later, I decided to replace the dishwasher which cost me about $650. So, you see! Water hardness can and will cause a lot of damage in home plumbing and fixtures.

Thinking about the importance of further educating the public about this particular topic, I will also write articles that will be covering the followings: water softener reviews, water softener salt, water softener troubleshooting, installing a water softener and much more.

If you like this article, this section but needs improvements, please, don’t hesitate in sending me your comments and feedbacks, remember, it is always very welcomed. Thank you.
