Whirlpool Heater

Whirlpool heater, just like Kenmore Company, Whirlpool Corporation has been around for many decades. Initially, the organization’s focus was mainly in appliance industry but, over the years, the company’s brands expanded and became one of the most trusted names of its industry.

Today, Whirlpool offers a large variety of products to its customers and, among many of the item; you can find a diverse line of water heaters that comes in different sizes, shapes and models.

This article will be focusing on the Whirlpool 40 gallon gas water heater; the goal is to provide you with enough information about the Flame Lock model and help you form your own opinion about it.

Whirlpool Gas Water Heaters:

The Whirlpool heater 40 gallon flame lock is offered in the market for a fair price that’s around $340. It is not one of the cheapest water heaters of its class but, it is not the most expensive one as well.

When comes to choosing a good water heater, most of my customers that I’ve spoke with in the past, have indicated that they would not consider Flame Lock as their first option when buying a new heater.

The common response was that they didn’t trust well enough in the company’s technology to build a solid and reliable water heater.

Whirlpool heater has received tremendous amount of complaints from its customers who purchased the company’s water heaters.

Such amount of complaints do not necessary make the company’s water heaters any worse than of their competitors but, it does hurt the company’s image and put doubts in the customer’s minds when choosing to buy a new water heater.

Price vs. Features:

If you’re buying a water heater, what do you consider the most important, the price or the features?

Whether you choose the price or the features, the combination of the two is the best option. You will likely have a better chance of buying a better heater if you’ve a proactive approach and analyzing the features while checking the price.

Focusing only on the cost of the heater is a big mistake. Make sure to check out what the new heater has to offer. For example: first hour rate (FHR) and annual energy consumption.

Example 1: Water heater cost $290.00, Annual energy consumption cost $350.00 and FHR is 70 gallons. Example 2: Water heater cost $330.00, Annual energy consumption cost $280.00 and FHR is 90 gallons.

The first heater cost less up front but, it will cost more on the long run, meanwhile, the second heater cost more up front but, it will save a lot more money on the long run. Why?

The first heater heats 70 gallon per hour which is 20 gallon less than the second heater, this will cause the first heater to lose hot water and cause the burner to turn it on more often, which will result in more gas consumption, higher gas bill and so on.

Whirlpool heater Flame Lock 40 gallon has a very competitive rating value when comparing to other brands. In fact, when comes to compare this particular feature, the Flame Lock 40 gallon has one of the highest rating in the market.

So, when comparing heaters, check the first hour rating (FHR) for each water heater and annual cost of energy consumption. But don’t forget to check the reliability and warranty of each water heater.

The Whirlpool heater (40 gallon) has a FHR of 81 gallons; this is considered to be a very good rate when comparing to other brands heaters of same water capacity.

Whirlpool 40 gallon cost around $340 which is a very competitive price.

Whirlpool has received a lot of complaints related to technical problems that related to the thermocouple of the heaters but, ever since that happened, the company has been working very proactively to correct the issue.

If you want to have any specific information about Whirlpool water heater, I would suggest that you contact the company directly or visit their website for more information.
